Known for their big bursts, flashy designs, and “slightly excessive” power, blasters were the show-offs of the galaxy. If you wanted attention—or to make a crater—you bought a blaster.
Blasters were loud, dramatic, and far from practical. But that didn’t stop everyone from wanting one. Enter Benny “Big Bang” Sparks, the galaxy’s self-proclaimed Blaster King. Benny loved two things: making noise and showing off. His collection of blaster spaceguns was legendary, boasting everything from triple-barreled monstrosities to sleek plasma rifles that glowed neon pink.
One day, Benny unveiled his latest creation at the Nebula 9 Market: the Stellar Shockwave 9000, a blaster so powerful it needed a warning label in four languages. “Behold!” he shouted, holding it high as the crowd oohed and ahhed. “The galaxy’s most powerful blaster! It doesn’t just fire—it announces your presence!”
Unfortunately, the demonstration didn’t go as planned. Benny aimed at a nearby asteroid target, but the recoil sent him flying backward into a stand of alien fruit. The blaster missed entirely, ricocheting off a satellite and zapping the market’s holographic billboard instead. Chaos erupted as vendors ducked under their stalls, and the crowd scattered, laughing as Benny wrestled with a particularly sticky piece of space melon.
Enter Zia, the market’s security chief, who strolled up with her trusty, reliable single-barrel blaster. “Nice toy, Benny,” she said, smirking. “But I’ll stick with something that doesn’t double as a jetpack.”
Despite the fiasco, Benny’s antics only made blaster spaceguns more popular. After all, in Nebula 9, nothing sold better than a good story—and a bit of over-the-top firepower.
