Description
“Bony Duelists”
In a dusty old graveyard under a pale moon, two skeletons, Sir Clatter and Lord Rattle, were locked in their eternal feud. Their bones creaked as they faced off, rusty swords drawn.
“You’re missing a rib, Rattle,” Sir Clatter mocked, his jawbone clicking with glee. “Perhaps you should surrender before you fall apart entirely!”
“Oh, do be quiet, Clatter,” Lord Rattle retorted, waving his sword dramatically. “Your swordsmanship is as brittle as your shinbone!”
With a clumsy lunge, Clatter swung his sword, missing by a mile and toppling over a gravestone. Lord Rattle seized the opportunity to laugh so hard his skull nearly fell off. He attempted a counterstrike but got his sword stuck in the dirt. “One moment, please,” he muttered, tugging furiously as Clatter tried to reassemble his limbs.
The battle raged on—or rather, stumbled on. Every swing missed. Every parry was mistimed. Clatter’s femur popped loose mid-swing, and Rattle’s bony hand went flying, still clutching his sword.
“Wait, was that your hand or mine?” Clatter asked, scratching his exposed cranium.
“Does it matter?” Rattle snapped. “You’re a pile of loose parts yourself!”
Their fight continued, not with skill or strategy but sheer stubbornness. Nearby, a skeleton dog lazily gnawed on Clatter’s missing rib. Eventually, as the moon dipped lower, both warriors collapsed into a heap of bones, exhausted.
“Well,” Clatter sighed, his skull rolling to face Rattle. “Same time tomorrow?”
“Of course,” Rattle replied. “Practice makes perfect.”
