“The Big Jelly Dream”
Deep beneath the waves, where sunlight dared not tread, a jellyfish named Gloop had a dream. Not just any dream—a bigdream. While other jellies floated aimlessly, content to glow softly and bump into stuff, Gloop had ambition. “I’m going to become the first jellyfish astronaut!” he declared one day, his bioluminescent glow flickering dramatically.
“Gloop, you don’t even have a brain,” scoffed his friend Zorb, who was mostly known for getting tangled in seaweed. “How are you going to build a rocket?”
But Gloop wasn’t one to be discouraged by little details like anatomy or physics. “Easy,” he said, “I’ll find a human and hitch a ride on one of their space things.”
So, Gloop began his epic journey upward. He jiggled past grumpy crabs, dodged a squid in a bad mood, and even outswam a curious anglerfish. Finally, he reached the surface and drifted near a fancy research ship. It wasn’t a rocket, but it was close enough.
The humans aboard didn’t notice Gloop at first—after all, they were busy arguing about whether or not sandwiches counted as a proper lunch. But when Gloop slapped his wobbly self against a porthole, they screamed and accidentally launched a drone, which, in their panic, did go straight up into space.
From his perch on the drone, Gloop was ecstatic. He’d done it! The first jellyfish in space! Sure, it was cramped, cold, and kind of smelly (humans apparently left tuna sandwiches everywhere), but none of that mattered. Gloop glowed brighter than ever, his little jellyfish heart—or whatever he had—bursting with pride.
Back in the ocean, Zorb watched the streak of light in the sky. “Gloop’s insane,” he muttered, shaking off seaweed. But even he couldn’t help but admire his friend’s dream—and his knack for causing chaos.
