“The Legend of Cool in the Pool”
In the middle of a sleepy little suburb, wedged between Old Man Grizzle’s fence and the empty lot where kids sneak sodas, lies the town’s most infamous landmark: Cool in the Pool. Nobody really knows who built it. The pool just showed up one summer, complete with its floating rain cloud, glimmering blue water, and the giant, neon-pink letters spelling out “COOL IN THE POOL.”
It’s not just a pool—it’s a rite of passage. Every kid in town dreams of swimming in its mystical, rain-drizzled waters. But here’s the kicker: only the coolest kids get in. Or so the legend says.
Jimmy “Jumps” Parker swears he got in once by pulling off a triple somersault on his scooter. Suzy Slicker claims she bribed the ladder with a rare holographic sticker. And then there’s Danny the Daredevil, who insists the cloud spoke to him in riddles before granting him access. “The pool knows if you’re cool,” Danny says, dramatically flipping his sunglasses.
For years, Eddy and his gang—known around the block as “The Poolless Posse”—have tried every trick to make it inside. They’ve built human ladders, offered the cloud their best comic books, and even threw an entire birthday party in its honor. But each time, the rain cloud swirls ominously, and the ladder just won’t budge.
One summer, Eddy hatches his most daring plan yet: a synchronized cannonball routine. The gang practices for days, perfecting their moves. When the big moment arrives, they leap in perfect unison, creating the splash heard ‘round the neighborhood.
The ladder squeaks. The cloud thunders. And then? Nothing. They’re still standing outside, soaked and laughing. Because honestly? The coolest part of Cool in the Pool isn’t the pool—it’s the stories you make trying to get in.
