Description
“The Sandwich Standoff”
Max Havoc sat alone in the breakroom of Starport Beta, savoring the sight of his freshly made sandwich. A masterpiece of engineering, it boasted layers of space turkey, galactic greens, and a dollop of nebula mustard. This was the kind of sandwich that made a tough day worth it.
As he reached for his first bite, a shadow darted across the room. Max froze. There, crouched by the vent, was the infamous space rat—a cunning little thief with glowing red eyes and a knack for stealing lunches.
“Don’t even think about it,” Max warned, clutching his sandwich protectively. The rat didn’t listen. With a squeaky battle cry, it launched itself across the table, grabbing the sandwich with its tiny paws and bolting toward the vent.
“No way!” Max shouted, fumbling for his belt. His hands found the grapple gun, a gadget he’d only ever used for fixing loose panels. He had seconds to act. The space rat was halfway up the wall, dragging the sandwich like it had just won the galaxy’s tastiest prize.
Max took aim. Thwip! The grapple shot forward, snagging the sandwich by its top layer of space turkey. The rat squeaked in outrage as Max yanked the sandwich back toward him. But gravity had other plans—the sandwich plummeted toward the ground.
Thinking fast, Max fired again, this time hooking the bottom layer of bread. With a flick of his wrist, he reeled the sandwich into his waiting hands, a little squished but otherwise intact. The rat scurried into the vent, defeated but plotting its next heist.
Max sat back down, triumphant. “Nice try, buddy,” he muttered, taking a victorious bite. Grapple guns, it turned out, weren’t just for work—they were for saving lunch.
